i just finished installing Windows XP on my Asus eee PC.
at first i didn’t wanna switch to XP coz i’ve got high expectation with Xandros, but then i got stumbled upon wi-fi connection problem, which was annoyingly unsolved
i got the “No DHCPOFFERS Received” problem everytime i tried to connect to a wireless network, both secured and unsecured
and i got no problem at all when using laptop with Windows XP (and yes, i did tweak some settings until there was nothing left to do as a wifi user, not as the wifi network admin)
so bye bye linux

this is my room, shared with 2 other girls

i’m quite happy, they feed me well
meal time: breakfast - morning coffee break - lunch - afternoon coffee break - dinner - night snack
and there are classes/lectures in between, but the teachers are often absent :/ (yay)

Last Friday my boss (Kabag Rumah Tangga) ordered me to follow “Diklat Program Aplikasi RKAKL” (it’s about budgeting) for 7 days (6-14th May).
So this afternoon I went to Pusdiklat DEPKOMINFO at Kelapa Dua Kebon Jeruk to check-in.
The place is nice enough, like a 2-3 stars hotel. The dining area looks like an outdoor cafe. It has gym and public internet center. There’s a wi-fi connection available, but the signal is low in the room.

I miscalculated the clothes i’m gonna wear during my stay here -_-; i need more casual clothes, i brought too many formal ones
hmm… i need to wake up before 7 to catch breakfast >_<

last monday, my previous bosses gave me an Asus Eee PC as a farewell gift

it’s oh so cute! too bad i didn’t get the pink one, that would’ve been oh so much cuter XD
i love it, the softwares that come with it is enough for all my needs

hmm kayaknya lucu juga kalo gw posting semua kegiatan protokoler gw di depkominfo sejak gw mulai kerja tgl 25-Mar-08
fyi, gw “seharusnya” handle database kepegawaian di Biro Kepegawaian, tapi somehow gw dicabut masuk ke bagian Rumah Tangga & Protokol under Biro Umum dan Humas
so i’m sort of like PRT (Pembantu Rumah Tangga) now… -_-;

okey, let’s start from…
26-Mar-08 > jagain catering untuk Seminar ICT Watch, dihadiri Menkominfo, operator telekomunikasi, IT experts, dll.
05-Apr-08 > menata snack & makan siang untuk Menkominfo dan peserta rapim
07-Apr-08 > ada acara pertemuan antara Menkominfo dan para blogger, tapi karena malem gw gak diajak
11-Apr-08 > jadi asrot untuk acara Rapat Koordinasi Perekonomian yg diikuti oleh beberapa Menteri terkait
14-Apr-08 > jagain buku tamu & catering untuk acara Musyawarah Kerjasama Malaysia - Indonesia, dihadiri delegasi dari Pejabat Penerangan Malaysia (Ministry of Information Malaysia)
18-Apr-08 > jagain buku tamu untuk acara Nonton Bareng Film Kun Fayakun di Plaza Senayan, dihadiri oleh Menkominfo, Mentan, Kabulog, para pejabat pemerintah, Dirut operator telekomunikasi, TV & Radio swasta, media cetak, dan wartawan. Pembukaan oleh sutradara H. Yusuf Mansyur, penutup oleh Dedi Mizwar dan komentar oleh Menkominfo, para pemain juga hadir disana.

gw mulai paham tentang kerjaan protokoler, tapi tetep aja “nggak IT banget!”
ada sisi enaknya juga sih, bisa ikut berada didalam acara para pejabat pemerintah hehehe (dan ikut makan enak) XD

Jum’at kemaren gw ikut berpartisipasi dalam mempersiapkan Rapat Koordinasi Bidang Perekonomian di DEPKOMINFO yg diikuti oleh beberapa Menteri
it’s my first big event since i started working there
tugas gw operate webcam untuk dokumentasi, webcamnya bisa diatur gerakannya secara remote melalui laptop
sama nge-klik next next slide Power Point waktu Menkominfo lagi presentasi
rada kaget juga ternyata acara rapat langsung mulai tanpa basa basi, gw kira bakal formal dengan segala aturan protokoler

It’s been 3 weeks since i started working at my new office, The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (DEPKOMINFO). So many things shocked me, the truth about the real situation at a government institution. Things that I cannot post on this blog (at least for now).

umm… and about the blocking of several websites regarding that Fitna movie… i’m lazy to talk about it -_-;

hmm so many changes happened lately, i’m lazy to blog it

Bulan Maret yg santai hohoho
Kerja di depkominfo masih belum mulai juga, mudah2an 1-April sudah bisa aktif bekerja, soalnya SK belum turun dari BKN, tapi gaji sudah terhitung dari tgl 1-Maret langsung merasakan makan gaji buta! hihihi
Selama bulan maret ini paling seminggu 1-2 kali aja ada kegiatan orientasi disana.
Juga ke kantor yg lama -_-; 2-3 hari tiap minggu masih harus dateng, just to check things up, sama follow up things lewat email & phone

oiya, gw ketemu Ibu Menteri Kominfo loh minggu lalu
gw jadi salah satu kandidat u/ jadi Secretary-nya (personal assistant gitu deh). Jadi ada 5 kandidat, kami bertamu ke rumah dinasnya Menteri di Widya Dharma. Disana gw kira bakal di interview satu2, ternyata beliau cuma minta CV u/ dipelajari dulu.
Acaranya jadi cuma minum teh dan makan blueberry cheese cake, trus ngobrol2 aja hehe
Kayaknya sih gw gak kepilih soalnya belum di kontak lagi tuh hahahaha (ada yg bilang gaya gw kurang konservatif)

terus… soal penempatan sudah diumumkan, alhamdulillah gw dapet di kantor pusat Jakarta (medan merdeka barat)
di Sekretariat Jendral, Biro Kepegawaian & Organisasi, posisinya sih tertulis sebagai Database Administrator, tapi bisa aja kenyataannya jadi helpdesk ajah -.- atau mungkin cuma data entry huhuhu
yah pasrah aja deh, whatever job yg gw dapet, i’ll do the best! >_<

hmm apa lagi ya… itu aja dulu deh, soal life update yg lain rahasia hahahaha

tadi siang (akhirnya) ada telp dr Depkominfo, panggilan untuk dateng hr Rabu 5-Mar-08
katanya sih akan ada pengarahan penempatan, mudah2an gw dapet di kantor pusat medan merdeka

jum’at kemarin, gw resign dr kantor, tapi suasananya gak kayak resign yg bener2 resign…
it was just like a “see you later”, instead of a “good bye” _-_
and my boss keeps insisting me to stay working, no matter how T_T

btw, i asked my boss for a graphic tablet, Wacom Intuos, as my farewell gift XD
too bad Asus eeepc is out of stock :/

MS Access database problem: unable to run event procedure from command button in certain PCs, but it works just fine on some other PCs
environment: Windows XP (SP version doesn’t matter), MS Office Access (2000/2003/2007)

Solution:
checked Help > About MS Office Access > System Info > Office Applications > MS Office Access > Summary
found missing reference MSComDlg
go to Tools > ActiveX Controls > register COMMON DIALOGS CONTROL from C:\WINDOWS\System32\COMDLG32.ocx
(if it doesn’t exist, copy the file from the working PC)

phew!

now that i found the root of the problem, i feel so stupid that i didn’t notice it earlier >_< ;
such a waste of time i spent hours trying to figure it out i re-installed Windows XP twice plus re-installed MS Office 2000, then MS Office 2003, and then MS Office 2007
i'm so happy that it's solved... but it's so aggravating! >_< ; GRAAAAAA<~

okey so the On Click error was solved, but then i got a bunch of other On procedures error
this database needs more ActiveX components... so as last resort i installed Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise with all its core ActiveX stuffs
and it worked -_-; *wobbles*
damn this case took away my precious weekend >_<;
